What Does HID Stand For Something?
HID isnt just some random letters put together it is a abbreviation for High-intensity discharge.

Is HID and Xenon the samething?
This is commonly mistaken for the samething. Xenon refers to the gas that are within the quartz pocket of the HID bulb. As power is passed through this gas it ignites giving you that super bright light that is discharged from the bulbs.

Whats Included In A Standard HID Conversion kit?
We cant speak for everyone in this case as it varies from company to company. What we can tell you is that our kits depending if you purchase a single beam hid kit or a bi xenon hid kit, comes with two bulbs and two AC ballast. If bi xenon then you get a additional wiring relay harness that powers the high and low beam function of your kit.

All of our kits are plug and play, there are a few exceptions like H1, H3 and a few other that do not appear to be plug and play. But this is false as they bulb types do not have any harness that snap in. You are provided with the correct pins as the stock halogen bulbs.

How Easy Are HID Kits To Install? 
On some vehicles these kits are very easy to install and take less then 5 minutes for installation. Some vehicles require that you take the complete front bumper off along with headlights. Most installs can be installed with basic hand tools if needed.

Do your kits come with everything i need to properly install HID lights on my vehicle?
All our kits come with all the basic compents to properly install these lights on all vehicles. But due to the complexeity of some vehicles electrical systems, the items provided in our kits may not work correctly without supporting parts. Please check the HID Kit Parts & Accessories section for additional parts.

Are all kits one size fits all? are your  kits universial and mix match compatible?
No they do not. Each vehicle uses a specific bulb pattern in order to properly fit the pattern that is on the headlight. 

What Is A Bi Xenon HID Kit
The biggest misconeption of this phrase is that there are two bulbs on the base of the bulb. In which there are similar bulbs on the market being sold today, we do not recommend this as bulb tempatures get way to hot withing headliights and can pose a fire risk. Our Bi Xenon HID Kits work off one bulb and have a magnet within the bulb to shift the bulb; which will ship the pattern for the light within the reflector housings.

Do Bi Xenon's get brighter?
No, this is also a huge misconception about bi xenon bulbs and kits. They in fact do not get brigther. Only put the pattern of light being reflected higher and farther into the night.

Do HID's come in different colors?
Yes they do, you can view our colors with our kelvin rating (or light color) chart. Keep in mind that different manufactures will have different colors depending on their xenon gas and salt mixtures within the bulb.

The higher the kelving rating or k's , the brighter the light?
Not true, It would make sense that the higher the kelvin rating the brigther the light. But the kelvin rating system only refers to the tempeature of light that is being produced. The higher the tempature the more color you get in the light, meaning less light that is being produced. So lower the kelvin rating the more light you recieve, the higher the kelving rating the less light you recieve.

How Long Do HID Bulbs / HID Ballast Last?
Unfortunally there is no cut and dry answers for how long a bulb or ballast should and can last. But there are bulbs and ballast that can last for years on end, or burn out within a week. All of our bulbs and ballast are manufactured with the highest of craftmenship to help reduce parts going bad.

Why Are Your Kits So Much? Cant I Get The Same Thing On Ebay?
At HIDGuy we only use the best in parts to construct our HID kits. This is the reasoning for the price behind our pricing. We feel that for the craftmenship that is put into our kits, that the price is fair. Unfortunally it is very hard to find the quality and craftmenship from our kits on ebay.

Whats The Difference Between A More Expenisve Kit Then Yours? What About Brands Like philips and McCulloch?
There really is not to many differences between different brands. HIDGuy uses many of the same high quality components that other big quality brands use. We feel that everyone should be able to afford a quality automotive lighting parts.

Cant I Just Use LED Instead Of HID Or Xenon?
Please check out our LED FAQ for further insight on this. LED technology does have the capablity of being used instead of Xenon or HID technology. But due to the cost, currently LED is more of a accent lighting component.

I Bought HID Headlights Off Ebay, Dont I Already Have HID's?
Unless clearly stated within the description of that listing, most ebay sellers will add that to their listing to help sell headlights. It must specificly say that a HID kit is included with two bulbs and two ballast.

Can I Use HID In My Aftermarket Projector Headlights Althought It Says 'No HID' or 'Halogen Only'?
We have in shop tested this and have not seen that it is dangerous in putting HID's in halogen projector. Thats not to say it can be dangerous to do so.

What Type Of Warranty Or Guarantee Do You Have On Your Kits?
All of our HID kits are covered under a life Time warranty. This is if all parts have not been modified in any way and they have stopped working due to normal use.
